Who we are

Smash Global is at the forefront of change in training for the dance industry. After launching in 2018 we have delivered workshops for dancers wanting more insight and upskilling for the industry. They were so popular that over 1000 young people attended. From January 2024 we launched our first full time cpd course that dancers were self-funding as career development. We have now developed courses with more global opportunities and a faculty based in Los Angeles which dancers can now apply for student finance for and remove financial barriers.   We are launching dance training courses and opportunities in the North of England, Dumfries (South West Scotland) and the Borders to level up access to global opportunities,  reducing regional inequality in the creative industries and removing barriers. 

We believe in the transformative power of dance, and we strive to cultivate a supportive and inclusive community where passion meets professionalism.

What we do  

Our courses are a pioneering first for the UK with an emphasis on leveling up opportunities for young people and creatives based in the north of England, South west Scotland and the Borders. 

Smash delivers global industry standard dance training which empowers the next generation of dancers, closing the gap between intensive training and the professional dance industry. We include business and mindfulness as key elements to empower our dancers along with work-based learning experience in Los Angeles  and an opportunity to perform on a global stage. This is all pioneered and led by the smash outstanding international faculty who not only are intrinsic to the technical and holistic development of the individual dancers but are also those that offer employment. The need for this change and development of dance training has been engineered by  Directors of film, TV, Theatre, Music Management, Dance Agents, Equity, Producers, Casting Agents, Choreographers those that hire dancers at the forefront of creative industries that globally generate revenues of over two trillion and amount for nearly 50 million jobs worldwide. We strive to provide world-class training, cutting-edge techniques, and transformative experiences that ignite creativity and inspire confidence. Dance brings diversity, opportunity and inclusion. It is a celebration of culture and opens doors for anyone regardless of background. We create safe spaces for everyone to be their authentic self.

Training will include master classes led by practitioners who have worked with the following: Janet Jackson, Rhianna, Lady GaGa, Beyonce, ColdPlay, Pink, One Direction, Justin Beiber, J Lo. Professional portfolios created for Smash dancers use a movement director and professional photographer and makeup artist (credits Vogue, Grazia Magazine, The Stylist, Stella Magazine, Tatler, Reiss, Clinique, French Connection) and stylist (Kylie Minogue, Sam Smith) 

Smash Global also includes personal mentorship with UKs leading Choreographer Alyx Steele (Sugababes, Rihanna, Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, Coldplay, Nike and as well as hit TV Shows The X Factor, The MOBO Awards, The Brit Awards and So You Think You Can Dance) giving the dancers intrinsic, personal feedback they never receive at auditions or castings. Personal introductions to dance specific agencies MSA (Usa) RND Creatives, Skin London and Pink Mustard to enhance future employment opportunities and offer an interview and exclusive audition. Our blended learning model includes lectures on Business studies, Law, Contracts, Self assessment tax navigation.  Essential key skills for dancers. Smash mindfulness has been created specifically for dancers with a leading Psychologist which includes specific breathing techniques and every day practises specific to dancers auditioning, training and developing a career in creative industries. 

 We also offer  ‘Lets Talk’ sessions where the industry's finest openly discuss the highs and lows of working as a dancer offering advice and shared experiences. Building an ongoing community of support.
